| Many drivers consider
this the best circuit in Britain and with its twists and turns and elevation
changes it has been called "the mini Nurburgring". Sadly due to its relative
remoteness it perhaps doesn't get the recognition its deserves, Cadwell
is situated in the Lincolnshire Wolds near Louth. Cadwell began its life as a 0.7-mile motorcycle road racing circuit in 1934, and in 1953 it was widened and lengthened to 1.3 miles and F3 and Formula Juniors began to race there. Further development took place in 1962 when the track was further lengthened to 2.25 miles. Although still primarily a motorcycle venue car racing is a regular visitor although due to the narrowness of the track there is a maximum limit of 2.0 litres applied to the faster classes. Superb viewing facilities make it a very popular circuit with spectators who are prepared to travel. Current Circuit Length: 2.25 miles. |
