Nestling in the South West of England 22 miles from Bristol, Castle Combe has always been a popular club-racing venue. It started its racing life in 1950, like so many British circuits it was a former World War 2 airfield, and was initially used until 1955 when it was closed in the aftermath of the Le Mans 24 Hours disaster on safety grounds. It was reopened in 1962 after a number of safety improvements were made and it has been in almost constant use since then. Sadly continual arguments with the local council regarding planning restrictions have meant that alterations and improvements have been almost impossible and the racing has rarely been above club standard.
Current Circuit Length: 1.864 miles.
